Janipher moved from her hometown of Mbarara, in Western Uganda, to Kampala in search of work. She was having difficulty finding job opportunities due to her situation as a young single mother. Her friend Pascal at church mentioned that Jibu needed marketing assistance so she began working for the marketing team at the Kamwokya franchise. Through this experience, she became interested in business and decided to open a microfranchise in Mbarara, even though it was a 5-hour drive from Kampala! Transporting water from Kampala to Mbarara and then single-handedly introducing Jibu water to her community were huge challenges, but Janipher persisted and earned the profits and experience to open her own franchise. She aims to become an even more successful entrepreneur, trailblazing the way for her community.
