The Jibu Franchise Opportunity

Jibu is looking for potential Franchise and Area Master Franchise candidates who are interested in owning and operating a water production and packaging business. Jibu sells safe drinking water to the underserved population (70%), at radically affordable prices.

Jibu Franchise Criteria

To be considered for a potential franchise opportunity, Jibu asks that you demonstrate the following:

Single-Unit Franchise Startup Costs

Kenya

Franchise – $2,500

$1,500 USD licensing fee + $1,000 USD investment in initial inventory

Microfranchise:

3 months rent + approximately $300 USD in initial inventory

Rwanda

Franchise – $2,500

$1,500 USD licensing fee + $1,000 USD investment in initial inventory

Microfranchise:

3 months rent + approximately $300 USD in initial inventory

Uganda

Franchise – $3,000

$1,000 USD licensing fee + $2,000 USD investment in initial inventory

Microfranchise:

3 months rent + approximately $300 USD in initial inventory

Franchise Partner Selection Process

1. Contact Jibu Corporate

Send an email to kampala@jibuco.com for Uganda inquiries, kigali@jibuco.com for Rwanda inquiries, and info@jibuco.com for all other countries.

Include the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Contact Information: Email & Phone
  • City and Neighborhood of Interest
  • Brief summary of your management track record, entrepreneurial mindset, access to capital, local expertise and alignment with the Jibu mission

2. Interview with a Jibu Franchisee to explore the Microfranchise opportunity

All potential franchisees must first become a Microfranchisee. A Microfranchisee sells inventory on behalf of a franchisee, and makes a profit from a marginal markup to the consumer. Obtain a letter of recommendation from current Jibu Franchisee.

3. Start your Microfranchise

If selected, execute a Microfranchisee Agreement with Jibu Franchisee and Jibu Corporate. After contract execution, identify and secure a store location for your Jibu Microfranchise. Invest in store fit out including interior signage, shelving and bottle inventory. Jibu Corporate to cover the costs of Jibu Microfranchise storefront façade and external signage.

4. Demonstrate a Strong, Profitable Business

Key Performance Indicators of success include:

  • Volume of Liters Sold (ranked as top 10 performer)
  • Showcase steady growth in year over year comparative sales
  • Demonstrate compliance with the Microfranchisee Agreement and protecting the brand
  • Solid track record of Profit and Loss Financial Management

5. Potential Franchise Evaluation

Jibu Corporate to Execute Due Diligence

  • Microfranchisee to provide personal and professional references, credit information, criminal record, and a CV.
  • Microfranchisee to attend the Microfranchise Selection Committee Interview.
  • Microfranchise Selection Committee will approve or reject Microfranchise candidate in writing within 5 business days.

6. Jibu Brand Orientation

Mircofranchisee to attend Jibu Franchise New Member Training at the appropriate Jibu Corporate headquarters.

7. Jibu Store Launch

Jibu Corporate will assist with store construction project management, store opening and post-opening support.
