Chief Executive Officer

Galen Welsch

Galen Welsch co-founded Jibu in 2012 and under his leadership Jibu has quickly become a top-rated social franchise bringing affordable drinking water access to thousands, and creating hundreds of jobs, mostly for youth, across East Africa. Galen's achievements at Jibu have been recognized by BBC World, the Guardian, Fast Company, the Franchise
Times, and by Forbes (30 under 30). In addition to Jibu, Galen is an Aspen Institute scholar, an advisory board member of the University of New Hampshire's Social Sector Franchise Initiative, a mentor (and prior fellow) at the Unreasonable Institute, and an honorary member of Toniic impact investor network. Galen has been a speaker at Harvard's Social Enterprise Conference and at the UN General Assembly's Global
Development Lab showcase. Previously, Galen has worked as a field manager for Colorado's Public Interest Research Group, for HEAL Africa in Goma, DR Congo, and for the Peace Corps as a Health Educator in Morocco.
Chief Operations Officer

Antonia Nalunga

Accomplished COO, with broad experience across corporates, social enterprises and consulting, adept at leading diverse teams to deliver profitable revenue. Antonia is passionate about entrepreneurs and building the essential blocks for their business to thrive, scale and transform communities. She is a people-oriented Ops Executive, Trainer, Business Coach and Researcher
Over 15 years’ work experience, with the last 9 in varying roles at Jibu, developing the proprietary business standards, training content and SoPs (the franchise system) to scale the social franchise enterprise to over 180 franchise units in 8 countries.
4 years’ experience as Research Manager at IPSOS (Uganda & South Africa), a multinational market research and a consulting firm, converting survey and other data into actionable insights for clients including banks, Telcos, SMEs, NGOs, Donor Agencies, etc.
4 years’ experience as Projects Manager at FRIENDS Consult, providing financial, business and general consultancy services to scores of corporate, ranging from private- sector companies, NGOs, aid agencies, and Government projects.
