I wanted to let you know that I will be transitioning out of my operational role with Jibu and onto the Board in the coming months. This is not a sudden move.

When Jibu started in 2012 my primary focus was to partner with Galen to lay foundations and help Jibu go ‘from zero to one’. After that, we both assumed that my direct involvement would be minimal as a Board member only. But after launch, there always seemed to be a reason to keep helping out ‘just a little bit longer’…. which quickly stretched into many years.

Jibu was designed as a ‘son-father’ business from inception rather than the other way around. The plan has always been for Galen to fully lead the organization asap. In fact, he has been effectively doing so for quite some time supported by a very competent and passionate Africa-based team. Living outside of Africa, the need for my skillset and strengths has been far less critical the last few years.

Jibu is now well beyond ‘one’ as a company. We are in seven countries with more than 2000 reseller points. We are the market leader in one country and soon to be in two more. We are changing the game for many entrepreneurs, workers, women, communities, and vast numbers of customers.

Jibu is now one of the companies recognized globally for pathfinding a new way to invest win/win more wisely in emerging markets, partner with locals as peers, and catalyze lasting impact and systemic game change. I am fully confident that Jibu’s best days are yet to come.

YOU are our amazing friends whose support and encouragement has helped make all of this a reality. Kudos to you! and thank you most deeply.

I am not retiring but now beginning the process of looking for a new job. At this point I have narrowed my focus to business coaching, contributing to an executive leadership team, or university professorship.  Or something else. I have had a quite diverse career and am open to anything.

Any ideas or connections you could pass on would be most appreciated—thanks!

    Hello Randy,

We are following you on line for 2 years now. I am thankful for what you’ve done in Africa through Jibu and I hope to open a franchise in Madagascar as well.
We are emailing you from Madagascar because we are looking for a solution for our city, Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital. Our challenge is about helping and training entrepreneurs, and we also want to improve the water situation here in Madagascar using a concept very much like what you have already successfully implemented in many East African countries. As a team of 5 friends and entrepreneurs, we purchased 8 filtration systems through HWI, Colorado, which is the one who talked about you. We did not start the watershop yet. We hope to get help from you like : equipments, bottles, trainings, digital tracking, recommandations.

We have been inspired by what we have seen and read about Jibu online and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about possible opportunities to work together. Madagascar is part of the eastern African side and your 7 years experience will may help us to achieve our goal.

Please could you let us know who would be the best person within your organisation to talk to about this and let us know his email.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Regards,
    Jeremy,
    Antananarivo – Madagascar
